E131: The Goodwill Hunting Episode Part II: VHS Nightmare

It's here! Almost one hundred episodes later, we bring you the long awaited sequel to the Goodwill episode. This week the spooky boys venture from their dwelling holes, quarters in hand, searching second hand shops for the perfect secret VHS tape to share with the group. We then spent the entire day watching them back to back (old grimy trailers and all), not knowing what each person had chosen until it came up on screen. We've tagged the movies below if you have to spoil it for yourself, but we recommend listening without knowing what they are!

E130: The Deep Dark Hole Episode

Whether it's the dark depths of the ocean, the vast emptiness of space or a hole in the ground filled with man-eating troglodytes, humankind has always feared deep dark holes. To celebrate our fear, we'll be taking a look at three movies featuring never ending darkness. We dive deep into James Cameron's wet dream put to film, The Abyss (1989). ♫We all fall in it, The Pit  (1981). Finally, we feed our desire for cosmic dread deep inside The Void (2017). Will we crawl out of this hole with gems in hand, or will we be lost in the stinking muck forever?

E129: The Law Enforcement Go Into an Apartment Complex and Can't Leave Until All of the Bad Guys Are Dead (and a Sequel) Episode

Raid me and degrade me! This week we're taking a look at three horrifically violent (though not quite horror) films. We get judged, sentenced and punished by Dredd (2012). Next, we go undercover and get stabbed and punched a lot in The Raid (2011). Finally, we become fleshed out characters and enter a thick crime plot, but still get stabbed and punched a lot in The Raid 2 (2014). Blows fly in this long and complex episode. Will we survive the assault?

E127: The Devil Episode

They say the devil's in the details, but what you may not know is that the devil... is also in a lot of horror movie titles. So let's talk about three movies with devil in the title today! First we'll take a trip to spain and have a good look at The Devil's Backbone (2001). We'll experience true hell stuck in an elevator full of M. Night Shyamalan in Devil (2010). Finally, we suck long and hard on The Devil's Candy (2017).

E126: The Two Sides of Blumhouse Episode

(Please read! Today we discuss Get Out and we do so with full spoilers. We give plenty of warning before doing so, but if you'd like to skip ahead once the spoilers start, we stop talking spoilers at 1:45:30. We hope you enjoy either way!)

There are two sides to every coin. Yin and yang. Good and evil. Stinker and gem. Blumhouse Productions gets a lot of flak AND praise in the horror community, so we thought we would take an extremely scientific approach and take a look at what are considered to be the best and worst Blumhouse has to offer. We join America's #1 dad Kevin Bacon for a horror mishmash in the form of The Darkness (2016), and we delve deep into spoiler territory for our review of Jordan Peele's Get Out (2017).

E125: The Snuff Film Episode

What could be scarier than home movies? A murderer's home movies, that's what! This week we look at films of other people looking at films of people being killed. We hang out with #1 Slipknot fan and all around bad-ghoul, Bughuul, in Sinister (2012). We also watch a totally real documentary called The So Sleepy Tapes oh sorry I mean Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007). Finally, we attempt to watch Bernard Rose's Snuff-Film but we can't find it so fuck it we watch Sinister 2 (2015) instead.

We accept our heavenly duties from Dad Paxton in Frailty (2001), we get locked into a bar and sucked dry by Vampire Paxton in Near Dark (1987) and we loser our minds with Soldier Paxton in Aliens (1986).

E122: The Modern Horror Episode

The spooky boys are back! We've had a week away, a week to mature, a week to blossom into sophisticated modern men. With this new found modern sensibility comes a desire for the new, the cutting edge of cinema. This week we cut deep into The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016), shut ourselves in with The Blackcoat's Daughter (2017) and cry and howl with confusion for The Wailing (2016).

The HorrorGirl Podcast (Valentine's Day Special Episode)

We're feeling the love this week as the boys' better halves pick and discuss three romance-themed horror movies. Join the Spooky Girls as they give you their face gal-ue view on this week's picks, Warm Bodies (2013) as picked by Brandon's girlfriend, Kelsi, Honeymoon (2014), selected by Dylan's girlfriend Meghan, and X-Ray/Hospital Massacre (1982) as chosen by Devon's girlfriend, Lisa. Manton's girlfriend, Rachel, also known as pugsplz, returns to the cast to host this sweet treat of an episode. Will these films be love at first sight for our ladies, or will these three movies get dumped?

E121: The We Picked 'Em Episode (#2)

Picking a theme each week is good fun, but sometimes, you just wanna watch what you wanna watch. You know? This week Devon, Blootster and Dylan each hand select a film to be viewed and reviewed for your listening pleasure. (While Manton hosts, also for your listening pleasure.) Dylan asks us what we've got in our baskets during Basket Case (1982), Blootster disappears into thin air while showing us The Vanishing (1988) and Devon proudly displays his Junk (2000).

Another month, another episode where we subject ourselves to the best (and worst) YOU have to offer. Frankenhooker (1990), Demons 2 (1986) and Kill List (2011) are your picks this month.

E119: The Evil Episode

Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil. Well, technically we are speaking evil this week, and you're getting ready to hear evil. But rest assured you'll see no evil! This is a podcast after all. This week we're taking a look at three devilish films with "Evil" in the title. We open our mouths as wide and spooky-looking as we can and take in Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016), it's all a big misunderstanding in Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010), and we get haunted by a creepy boy who used to be our womb-twin but now is... yeah, it's Evil Dead Trap 2 (1992).

E118: The Bacon on the Fringe Episode

This week the spooky boys pay tribute to one of the biggest, baddest, sexiest hunks in all of horror! Who's that you ask? No, not Bruce Campbell. No, no, not Jason Vorheez. And alright, maybe horror is a stretch, but he's been in a lot of movies that are almost horror! That's right, it's our Kevin Bacon fringe horror theme you've all been waiting for! We spend 2 hours near death with Kevin in Flatliners (1990), grow our mustaches and go for a ride with finely aged Bacon in Cop Car (2015) and finally get the Kevin Bacon shower scene we've been waiting for since Footloose in Death Sentence (2007)!

Ready? Fight! This week the spooky boys pit three "versus" movies against each other in the fight to end all fights. Whoever wins, we lose in Alien vs. Predator (2003). Two Japanese horror icons enter the Ring for a Grudge match in Sadako vs. Kayako (2016), and horror fans everywhere face off against their keyboard and our comment section when they hear our review of Freddy vs. Jason (2004). Who will leave the ring with the coveted Championship Gem-Belt?!

E115: The 2016 Wrap-Up Episode

Do you just wanna rock and roll all night? How about party every day? Well we do, and what better way to bring in the new year than a rock and roll party with your favorite spooky boys! It's almost the new year, and in this episode we spend almost an hour and a half talking about the smelly stinker that was 2016. It's not all bad though, because we're going to give you our shiniest (and stinkiest) picks of films that we reviewed this year. We love you all and we'll see you next year!

E114: The Christmas Episode 2016

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! In this weeks (heavily) 'nog-fueled episode, we take a look at three films that celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. First we visit our childhood memories of poorly photoshopped VHS box covers with Jack Frost (1997). Next, Black Christmas (2006) shows us what happens when you lock away a boy with bright yellow skin. Finally, Krampus (2015) scares us sober! (Not really.) We've been very good boys this year, but did Santa leave us a stocking full of beautiful gems, or a pile of stinky coal?

E113: The Junji Ito Episode

This week we spiral back into the world of Japanese horror, this time through the lens of acclaimed artist/author Junji Ito! First we annoy each other to death with Tomie: Re-birth (2001), then we... wait. Something stinks like rotten flesh! Is it Blootster, or is it Gyo: Tokyo Fish Attack! (2012)? Finally, we'll cast our gaze ever inward to the center of Uzumaki (2000).
